Jumio Strengthens Commitment to Responsible Online Gaming with Multiple U.S. Licenses

In a strategic move to support the American Gaming Association's Responsible Gaming Education Month, Jumio, a pioneer in automated identity proofing, risk assessment, and compliance solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering safer gambling practices in the online gaming industry. As the popularity of online gaming soars, the issue of problem gambling looms large, prompting both governmental bodies and industry organizations to call for decisive action. This underscores the critical importance of robust age verification measures that not only keep minors away from gaming platforms but also streamline the sign-up process for legitimate adult players. Jumio's dedication to responsible gambling aligns with its research, revealing that 77% of global consumers believe robust identity verification is instrumental in preventing underage access to online gaming and gambling.

In a bid to bolster its focus on online gaming, Jumio has obtained licenses in several U.S. states where online betting is legalized, underscoring its commitment to the industry. Presently, Jumio is either licensed or authorized to provide its services to online gaming and sports betting operators in at least 15 states across the United States.

Emeka Ezeyi, Head of Gaming at Jumio, highlighted the company's credentials, stating, "Jumio is the ideal partner for online gaming and sports betting operators. We have a long history in the market and are proud to work with 9 of the 10 largest global gaming providers." He also emphasized that securing U.S. gaming licenses marks an exciting new chapter in Jumio's mission to help gaming operators worldwide establish trust and confidence in their online player base.

Jumio's suite of automated solutions empowers gaming operators to verify the age of their customers by cross-referencing their date of birth with the information on their identity documents, while also ensuring that adults are not using someone else's ID to register. Furthermore, the platform verifies that the individual logging in is the same person who created the account, thereby preventing unauthorized access and usage. These processes serve a dual purpose, not only safeguarding against underage gambling but also shielding operators and customers from potential fraudsters looking to exploit legitimate accounts for illicit gains. ###
