AI-Generated Code Is Widening the Security Remediation Gap

Forty percent of technology leaders say the volume of AI-generated code requiring human review is a significant security challenge, according to a new ArmorCode study.

The survey covered 200 senior security and technology leaders across six countries. Thirty-six percent cited low-context security alerts as a major concern, while 44 percent said they most need a tiered approach that uses AI to prioritize vulnerability findings by urgency.

The results suggest the bottleneck is moving from discovery to remediation. Thirty-nine percent named coordination between security and development as their leading goal, ahead of reducing find-to-fix time. More than half said continuing with their current approach would add complexity.

The numbers are company-sponsored and should be read in that context, but they reflect a practical problem: faster code generation and faster scanning can grow the backlog unless organizations improve ownership, business context and verification. Counting findings is less useful than measuring whether the most consequential attack paths are actually closed.
