Akeyless Brings AI Agent Identity Controls Into FedRAMP High Environments

Akeyless says its identity-security platform is now available to U.S. federal agencies inside Second Front Systems' FedRAMP Class D, or High, environment, opening a procurement path for secrets management and AI agent controls in sensitive unclassified systems.

The deployment runs as a service within Second Front's Game Warden boundary in AWS GovCloud. Akeyless says the addition was assessed through the FedRAMP change process and appears under Game Warden's marketplace authorization, rather than as a separate standalone authorization for Akeyless's commercial cloud.

The platform combines secrets management, certificate lifecycle management, workload identity and privileged access. Its agent-focused controls use short-lived credentials and runtime policy to limit what an autonomous system can do after authentication, while keeping an auditable link to the request that initiated each action.

That distinction matters as agencies connect agents to operational systems. An authenticated agent can still take an unsafe or out-of-scope action, so authorization needs to be evaluated at execution time. Federal buyers should verify the exact authorized boundary, deployment configuration and inherited controls before treating the listing as coverage for a broader environment.
