Ambient.ai Launches Agentic Video Security Tools to Monitor Cameras and Accelerate Investigations

Ambient.ai is expanding its AI-powered physical security platform with new agentic monitoring, video management and forensic investigation capabilities designed to help security teams manage sprawling camera networks.

The centerpiece is Agentic Video Walls, an AI system that continuously evaluates feeds from every connected camera. Instead of requiring operators to watch a fixed grid of screens, the system selects the most relevant activity across a site every 60 seconds and displays it with a plain-language description.

The release reflects a broader shift in enterprise security: AI is moving from passive video analysis toward autonomous prioritization. Rather than simply recording footage or generating alerts from predefined rules, Ambient.ai’s software attempts to understand the context of each camera and determine which events deserve human attention.

Operators can influence future recommendations by pinning important activity or disliking irrelevant results. Ambient.ai says the system automatically distinguishes between environments such as perimeter areas and interior corridors, reducing the need for administrators to configure individual thresholds.

Ambient Doubles Camera Capacity on Existing Hardware

The company also introduced software optimizations that allow its Ambient Edge Appliance to support up to twice as many camera streams without a hardware upgrade. Existing Ambient Foundation customers can receive the additional capacity through a software update, while new deployments may require fewer appliances.

That could lower infrastructure costs for businesses expanding camera coverage across campuses, warehouses, retail locations and other large facilities.

New camera management features provide direct control over stream health, network settings and credentials. The platform can now identify degraded video caused by blur, poor lighting or obstructions, even when the camera remains connected. It also adds remote pan, tilt and zoom controls, bulk stream renaming and configurable camera-health reports.

AI Case Management Targets Faster Security Investigations

Ambient.ai is also introducing Case Management, a feature that assembles video clips from multiple cameras into a chronological incident record. The system automatically captures timestamps, camera information and site metadata, then generates an editable narrative summarizing the event.

Cases can be shared through expiring, revocable links with read-only access and audit logs. Role-based permissions are intended to support evidence handling and chain-of-custody requirements.

Updates to Semantic Search let investigators search footage using natural-language descriptions while grouping repeated sightings of the same person or vehicle. Similarity Search can identify additional appearances of a selected person across a site, and a redesigned video player allows investigators to jump directly between scenes containing people or vehicles.

Together, the features position Ambient.ai as more than a video surveillance vendor. The company is building an agentic physical security platform intended to decide what operators should examine, help reconstruct incidents and manage the underlying camera infrastructure from a single system.
