The apprehension primarily stems from the possibility of inadvertent exposure of classified information through the usage of these tools. Generative AI systems, such as large language models (LLMs), learn from vast swathes of data, which may include search results and user interactions to refine their algorithms. Given the confidential nature of military operations, even seemingly innocuous inputs to LLMs could potentially be mined for sensitive information.
