BreachRx Raises $15M Series A to Bring Order to Cyber Chaos, Adds Kevin Mandia to Board

In a cybersecurity landscape where chaos often reigns in the aftermath of an incident, BreachRx is betting that precision and preparedness are the new frontline. The San Francisco-based startup announced today it has raised a $15 million Series A round to supercharge its intelligent incident response platform — a product designed to bring order, speed, and structure to one of the most critical and chaotic moments a company can face.

The funding round, led by Ballistic Ventures, includes participation from SYN Ventures, Overline, and Silver Buckshot Ventures. It brings the company’s total funding to over $23 million. Alongside the raise, BreachRx has landed heavyweight cybersecurity executive Kevin Mandia — founder of Mandiant and one of the most respected names in breach response — as a new member of its Board of Directors. Cybersecurity author and former New York Times journalist Nicole Perlroth joins as a board observer.

BreachRx’s platform is built to unify every stakeholder in an organization — from legal to IT to comms — in a single secure workspace when a breach or security event hits. The system generates custom playbooks, assigns tasks, enforces timelines, and tracks progress with reporting tailored for boards and regulators. It’s not just another ticketing system or document repository — it’s a full-blown command center for incident response.

“Every company should consider how to prepare for and manage through a cyber incident — and BreachRx empowers companies to both plan and execute through cyber events in a manner that promotes far more effectiveness and resilience,” said Mandia, who brings decades of hands-on incident response leadership, including some of the most high-profile breaches of the last decade.

The company has seen more than 3x annual recurring revenue growth for two years running and currently serves over 100 customers, including Fortune 500 and public companies in critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, and infrastructure. The new capital will be used to scale engineering and go-to-market teams, aiming to cement BreachRx as the go-to tool for breach preparedness.

Co-founder and CEO Andy Lunsford said the company’s mission is not just about security — it’s about operational clarity and reducing reputational fallout. “Kevin knows better than anyone the importance of transparency, speed and precision in the response process,” Lunsford said. “His experience and Nicole’s deep reporting on how cyberattacks unfold in the public eye are invaluable as we execute our next phase of growth.”

For Perlroth, the communication layer is just as vital as the technical one. “Breached organizations aren't judged by how well they managed their security defenses — they're judged by their customers on how they managed the communications around their security incident,” she said. “BreachRx delivers clarity, coordination, and control at the exact moment when most companies are spiraling.”

As cybersecurity incidents become not just more frequent but more public, BreachRx aims to replace reactive panic with proactive orchestration. It’s not just about surviving an incident — it’s about managing it with confidence and credibility.
