Cowbell Gives Policyholders an AI Cyber Risk Advisor

Cowbell has launched an AI risk advisor for its cyber insurance policyholders, expanding the OMNI system it introduced earlier this year for underwriting, pricing and claims.

Risk Advisor combines Cowbell's risk factors, vulnerability findings, dark web exposure, connected security tools and policy information to produce prioritized recommendations. The company says each recommendation includes supporting evidence and explains why it could reduce risk.

The service can also interpret three AI-specific factors covering observability, autonomy and governance. More than 60 connectors are available, and the underlying risk model draws on Cowbell's global pool of more than 55 million businesses. Availability begins in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.

The security value will depend on the quality and freshness of connected data, as well as whether customers act on the guidance. Still, the move illustrates how cyber insurers are shifting from annual questionnaires toward continuous, evidence-based risk management.
