Immersive Debuts AI-Powered Lab Builder to Supercharge Cyber Readiness Training

In an era where human error remains the root cause of most cyber breaches, a new tool aims to finally bring scalable, personalized upskilling to frontline defenders. Cybersecurity training company Immersive is rolling out Lab Builder, an AI-powered module designed to transform how teams practice, measure, and improve their security skills—directly within the Immersive One platform.

Billed as a major upgrade to its people-centric cybersecurity suite, Lab Builder gives both customers and partners the ability to spin up custom labs—ranging from secure coding challenges to red-versus-blue team simulations—at enterprise scale. The AI engine at the core of Lab Builder can rapidly generate these hands-on environments using Immersive’s extensive library of threat content, helping orgs keep pace with the shifting tactics of real-world attackers.

“Our Immersive One platform has gotten even more powerful with our AI-enabled Lab Builder feature, which allows our customers and partners to quickly create tailored learning experiences as part of a holistic cyber readiness program,” said Thanos Karpouzis, Chief Technology Officer at Immersive.

This new capability couldn’t come at a more critical time. Cyber threats are intensifying while security teams struggle to keep up—hamstrung by legacy training models, budget limitations, and the widening skills gap. According to industry data, cyber leaders spend less than 40% of their time on resilience-building initiatives despite the average data breach costing $4.88 million. Immersive believes Lab Builder can shift that imbalance by making it easier—and faster—to train effectively.

Two Modes, One Mission: Mastery

The Lab Builder system offers two distinct types of exercises:

  • Theory Labs simulate classroom-like environments where users can build foundational knowledge, from frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK to company-specific policies.

  • Practical Labs immerse users in browser-based simulations of real-world attacks and tooling scenarios, providing a sandbox for both offense and defense drills.

These can be deployed independently or strung together in structured learning paths, allowing organizations to build progressive, measurable cyber readiness programs tailored to their tech stacks and risk models.

Built for Scale—and Accountability

By unifying training and simulation under one roof, Lab Builder closes a persistent gap in enterprise security programs: the divide between theory and execution. Organizations can assign labs by team, track performance metrics, and even map content to internal compliance standards for audit readiness.

Partners, meanwhile, gain a new lever to deliver bespoke training services—an enticing value-add for MSSPs, consultancies, and systems integrators looking to differentiate their offerings.

This isn’t Immersive’s first foray into AI-generated training. The company introduced an AI Scenario Generator in late 2024, which allowed organizations to quickly fabricate crisis response scenarios for tabletop exercises. Lab Builder extends that same agile ethos into day-to-day operations, offering what Karpouzis calls “hyper-relevant training for their unique use-cases.”

A Real-Time Response to a Real-World Threat Landscape

With breaches becoming more sophisticated—and more frequent—security teams don’t have the luxury of waiting for annual training refreshers. Lab Builder’s AI engine reduces the friction of keeping educational content up to date, generating threat labs and simulations that reflect the latest attack patterns, TTPs, and vulnerabilities in near real-time.

If Immersive gets its way, the days of generic, checkbox cybersecurity training may finally be numbered. With Lab Builder now live, organizations have a clearer path to proactive defense—not just awareness, but actual readiness. In the age of AI, that may be the most important upgrade of all.
