Sonatype Launches Upgraded Platform to Strengthen Software Supply Chain Management for Organizations

Sonatype, the software supply chain management pioneer, has announced the introduction of new product capabilities and refined product names as part of a platform upgrade. The enhancements aim to provide organizations with greater customization capabilities, clearer security context, and more organizational control to deliver innovative software more safely, quickly, and at scale.

Sonatype's software supply chain management platform has been improved with new features, including boosted security policy management, deeper insights and benchmarking, easier management at enterprise scale, enhanced user experience, platform high availability (HA), and containers for air-gapped environments. These new features are designed to help developers and engineering teams find and fix risk earlier and innovate faster with safer open source.

To reflect the unique capabilities of the entire solution, the Nexus Platform has evolved into the Sonatype Platform. The Nexus Repository brand, however, will remain with its steadfast reputation among its millions of users. The upgraded Sonatype Platform also has a new visual identity, with refreshed platform and product logos that subtly capture the core capabilities of Sonatype's platform while reflecting its mission of connectedness and empowerment.

According to Mitchell Johnson, Chief Product Development Officer at Sonatype, recent cybersecurity regulatory efforts, issuance of new rules and software liability guidance from governments and agencies around the world prove just how critical software supply chain management is. "Organizations cannot innovate without full visibility into their software supply chains," Johnson stated. By offering deeper intelligence and enhanced functionality, Sonatype is empowering developers and engineering teams to accelerate innovation without sacrificing security.

Alex Berry, President at Sonatype, said the demand for software supply chain management tools continues to skyrocket as cybersecurity threats grow in number and sophistication. "This evolved platform illustrates our continued growth and commitment to helping organizations accelerate innovation without sacrificing security," Berry added.
