Vibhuti Sinha, Saviynt: CIOs become Chief Cloud Officers in 2021; Going Beyond Current Duties

This is part of an ongoing 2021 predictions series. We’ve asked top cyber experts to contribute their insights and expertise to provide a look ahead at what the new year may bring to cybersecurity.

Vibhuti Sinha, Chief Cloud Officer, Saviynt:

Introducing: The Chief Cloud Officer – “More and more companies are embracing digital transformation and moving data to the cloud. This transformation has been sped up as a result of COVID and the shift to a work from anywhere model. With this, we’ll see the Chief Information Officer role evolve in 2021 to become the Chief Cloud Officer, as that title encompasses much more beyond what the CIO role entails today.”

2021 Companies to Experience Record-Breaking Data Breaches – “Due to organizations rushing to move to the cloud, we’ll see an increasing number of data breaches in 2021. Organizations are trying to understand this new changing landscape and it’s on them to understand what this migration entails. It’s crucial that organizations collaborate with solutions providers to ensure they’re managing their critical data stored in the cloud effectively. Unfortunately, we predict we’ll see a number of companies learning this lesson the hard way in 2021, first experiencing a breach before collaborating to find an adequate security solution.”
