Digital Fakes Get a New Adversary - Darktrace Cyber AI

#Darktrace is one of the world's leading cyber AI companies. Their Cyber AI platform is billed as a self-learning technology, learning on the job and from the data and activity that it works through. The company's products are used by more than 3,000 organizations worldwide – including eBay, Peugeot, T-Mobile, BT and more.

According to the company, their vast base of enterprise customers have been calling for a defense against 'digital fakes' as well as account hijacking, email spoofing, and targeted email attacks.

Experts agree that impersonation style attacks are on the rise, as free downloadable tools on the dark web are being used to automatically generate spear-phishing emails, or ‘digital fakes’ that can copy the writing style of trusted contacts in your address book. “Humans can no longer distinguish real from fake on their own – as a result, artificial intelligence is increasingly being deployed to fight back against these advanced threats,” according to Darktrace.

Enter Antigena Email

Launched in February 2019, Antigena Email for O365 fights back against email-based threats that bypass tools which only analyze email traffic. Threats like supply chain attacks, hijacked accounts, AI attacks and other advanced attacks are no longer a risk with Antigena. On January 8, 2020, Darktrace announced that Antigena Email will be expanded to cover G Suite and Microsoft Exchange – effectively meaning this technology can protect all enterprises and SMBs that use email.

“Up until now, email security was the unsolved piece of the security puzzle,” commented Mariana Pereira, Director of Email Security Products at Darktrace. “Attackers are getting smarter – using AI to generate ‘digital fakes’ that will be capable of exploding across supply chains – and so defenders must urgently keep their executives, finance teams, and broader employee base safe. Darktrace uniquely analyzes all available data across cloud, email, and network to stop these targeted attacks before they do damage.”
