DrayTek Taps Enea to Boost Application Visibility and AI Threat Detection
DrayTek is partnering with Enea to bring deeper application intelligence and threat detection to its next generation of high-performance networking and cybersecurity platforms.
The collaboration will integrate Enea’s Qosmos technology into upcoming DrayTek products, giving security teams greater visibility into the applications, services, and traffic moving across business networks.
DrayTek plans to embed Enea Qosmos ixEngine, a deep packet inspection and traffic classification engine, into future cybersecurity platforms. The technology is designed to identify thousands of applications and services by analyzing network traffic, including traffic that may otherwise be difficult to classify using traditional ports and protocols.

That visibility is becoming more important as organizations adopt cloud services, encrypted applications, generative AI tools, and distributed work infrastructure. Security teams need to distinguish legitimate business activity from shadow IT, unauthorized AI usage, malicious traffic, and compromised applications without creating excessive operational noise.

DrayTek also intends to deploy the Enea Qosmos TD SDK in an upcoming cybersecurity platform. The threat detection toolkit analyzes network activity for indicators of malicious behavior, potentially helping organizations detect and respond to emerging attacks faster.
The integration could allow DrayTek appliances to combine application identification with threat intelligence, giving administrators more context when investigating suspicious activity. It may also improve policy enforcement by helping organizations understand which applications are operating across branch offices, schools, service-provider environments, and distributed enterprise networks.
Enea maintains its traffic intelligence through continuously updated application signatures and network analysis techniques. Its Qosmos technology is already used by telecommunications providers, cybersecurity vendors, and enterprises to classify network activity and support security controls.

The companies did not disclose financial terms or announce a release date for the first DrayTek platform featuring Enea’s technology.
