At Google’s Secure Generative AI event this week, Exabeam unveiled a new approach to one of cybersecurity’s most pressing challenges: insider threats amplified by artificial intelligence. The company announced that its New-Scale Security Operations Platform now integrates telemetry from Google’s Agentspace and Model Armor, giving security teams the ability to monitor the behavior of autonomous AI agents alongside human users.
Exabeam’s move reflects the findings of its recent global study, which showed that 93 percent of organizations have either faced or expect to face insider threats driven by AI. Nearly two-thirds of respondents said insiders now pose a greater concern than external attackers. As AI systems gain authority to handle sensitive data and execute tasks autonomously, they introduce novel risks: malfunctioning processes, misaligned objectives, or hostile compromise.
Traditional SIEM and XDR products were not built for this moment. They lack the ability to baseline and detect when digital agents “drift” from expected patterns. Exabeam, known for its early adoption of machine learning and behavioral analytics, is positioning its platform as the answer. By pulling telemetry from Google’s AI services, the company extends its analytics beyond humans to encompass machine actors that increasingly shape business operations.
“This is a natural evolution of our leadership in insider threat detection and behavioral analytics,” said Steve Wilson, Chief AI and Product Officer at Exabeam. “Exabeam solutions are inherently designed to deliver behavioral analytics at scale. Security operations teams don’t need another tool — they need deeper insight into both human and AI agent behavior, delivered through a platform they already trust. We’re giving security teams the clarity, context, and control they need to secure the new class of insider threats.”
At the core of this expansion is Exabeam Nova, the company’s new intelligence layer. Nova interprets agent behavior in real time, surfacing explainable insights that help analysts understand whether automation is functioning as intended or drifting into misuse. Rather than firing off isolated alerts, Nova contextualizes intent and execution patterns, making it easier for analysts to prioritize and respond effectively.
Chris O’Malley, CEO at Exabeam, framed the announcement as a watershed moment for enterprise defense. “AI agents are quickly changing how business gets done at a scaling factor that is unprecedented, and that means security must evolve at the same rate,” he said. “This is a pivotal moment for the cybersecurity industry. By extending our behavioral analytics to AI agents, Exabeam is once again leading the way in insider threat detection. We’re giving security teams the visibility and control they need to protect the integrity of their operations in an AI-driven world.”
