Tenable and Splunk Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Data-Driven Incident Response

Tenable, a leading Exposure Management company, has announced a strategic partnership with Splunk aimed at empowering security teams to enhance their incident response capabilities through improved data correlation and actionable insights. By combining Tenable's vulnerability management expertise with Splunk's log and flow consolidation capabilities, the collaboration aims to simplify risk prioritization, accelerate threat response, and ultimately reduce overall business risk.

In today's digital landscape, security teams face an overwhelming number of alerts from various tools, often lacking complete visibility into their environments. This deluge of information makes it challenging to analyze and address every event effectively. As a result, organizations often find themselves trapped in a cycle of responding to ongoing breaches rather than proactively managing cyber risk.

As the leader in exposure management, Tenable provides Splunk customers with comprehensive visibility into their assets. Tenable continually assesses these assets for vulnerabilities and assigns each weakness a Vulnerability Prioritization Rating (VPR) that indicates its relative risk to the business. When combined with Splunk's log and flow consolidation capabilities, customers gain access to valuable correlation data and advanced analytics for incident response. This integration enables them to prioritize and focus security event investigations based on the most significant risks, all within a unified dashboard.

Hitu Chawla, GVP of Partner Strategy and Solutions at Splunk, highlighted the partnership's benefits, stating, "Together with Tenable, we provide our joint customers the ability to detect, investigate, and take action on vulnerabilities in their technology assets. We've launched this partnership with Tenable because of its effective exposure management capabilities and commitment to helping customers understand and reduce business risk."

Ray Komar, Vice President of Technical Alliances at Tenable, emphasized the value of combining Splunk's consolidation capabilities with Tenable's visibility and vulnerability data. He stated, "With this data at their fingertips, cybersecurity teams can address security incidents faster, freeing up their time to focus on other meaningful initiatives."

Apart from streamlining vulnerability response workflows, this technology partnership offers additional benefits, including accurate detection through integrated exposure and asset data, effective prioritization of event investigations based on the most critical cyber risks, and accelerated incident response time by utilizing Tenable vulnerability data in a unified security and observability platform.

By joining forces, Tenable and Splunk aim to empower organizations to respond swiftly and effectively to actual risks, enabling security teams to better protect their assets and focus on proactive cybersecurity measures.
