CloudWave, the largest independent cloud and managed services software hosting provider in healthcare, announces its partnership with Doctors Hospital Health System to host electronic health records (EHR) in the OpSus Healthcare Cloud as they transition to a newly adopted MEDITECH Expanse EHR system.
Doctors Hospital is a 72-bed hospital with more than 200 physicians serving patients in Nassau, The Bahamas. Established in 1955, Doctors Hospital Health System expanded in 1993 to become among the most modern acute care privately owned healthcare facilities in the Caribbean, providing a wide variety of crucial, high quality healthcare services to its community.
Doctors Hospital Health System evaluated data center and cloud-based solutions as the platform for its new EHR and chose CloudWave’s OpSus Live Infrastructure as a Service solution to provide managed hosting, daily operations, security, systems maintenance, and full disaster recovery for its MEDITECH system.
“We are pleased to select CloudWave as our hosting partner,” said Samantha Lockhart, director of IT at Doctors Hospital Health System. “In the past, CloudWave has helped us implement and maintain our on-premises data center. When it came time to move to MEDITECH Expanse, it made sense to have CloudWave host the platform in the OpSus Cloud, freeing our team to focus on maximizing the value of the new EHR for our users.”
OpSus Live meets all HIPAA and HITECH requirements mandating the privacy and protection of patient information. The OpSus Healthcare Cloud achieves this through the rigorous security network and operational processes that are the foundation of all OpSus cloud solutions.
“We’re proud to enter into this partnership with Doctors Hospital Health System and look forward to working with them to implement the MEDITECH Expanse EHR in the OpSus Cloud,” said Paul Denver, strategic account manager at CloudWave. “CloudWave’s mission is to enable, empower, and enhance the delivery of quality medical care to the Nassau community.”
